In your own interest as a customer SBB Cargo is seeking to improve the availability of its wagons with the aim of making its services more reliable. It is for this reason that there is a charge for wagon demurrage.

If, once loaded, wagons are registered as "ready for collection", then no further demurrage is payable. This enables you to avoid billable waiting times in the event that SBB Cargo is not scheduled to collect wagons again until the end of the loading period.
